Castell Harlech stands on a rocky outcrop above Harlech, overlooking the coastal landscape. Managed by Cadw, it is a historic attraction to combine with exploring the town and this part of the Eryri coast.
The castle is part of the Castles and Town Walls of King Edward in Gwynedd World Heritage Site. Its surviving walls, towers and defensive layout give visitors an introduction to the medieval history of the area. Cadw publishes the latest admission details, visitor facilities and access information.
Check Cadw’s current opening days, admission arrangements and visitor notices before setting off. Read the access guide if steps, uneven surfaces or heights may affect your visit. Parking arrangements are separate from castle admission.
